We are fortunate to have some of the best coaches in New England. The average tenure with TBA is five years. Our coaches put the player’s best interest first. They help them to build up their confidence to become a complete player on and off the field.

Cary McConnell / Co-owner /Coach 12U Baseball 2025, 17U Baseball 2025

With over 30 years of coaching experience, Coach Cary brings his hitting, fielding, baseball knowledge, and humor everyday. A former head coach for over 25 years, with over 500 wins, he offers the finest skill development for players both on and off the field. Cary is the Athletic Director for Suffolk University. He resides in Reading with his wife Kathy. They have two children, Charlie and Annie. Charlie was drafted in 2018 by the Seattle Mariners. Annie is a senior at Syracuse University.
Jeff Mejia / Co-owner /Coach 17U Baseball 2025

Coach Jeff is one of our founding partners and is also an Assistant Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach at Northern Essex C.C. He has over 20 years’ experience assisting New England players and families reaching their potential and excelling on and off the field. In only 12 full seasons at NECC coach was won 329 games at 70% winning rate. Over 120 players have moved on to four-year colleges and universities. Ten former Knights have reached professional baseball and 2 were drafted directly out of NECC. Coach Mejia has been named the New England Regional Coach of the Year 10 times and has led the NECC program to 10 NJCAA Regional Championships and 9 trips to the NJCAA College World Series. Mejia holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Salem State College in Sports Fitness and Leisure Studies, with a concentration in Coaching. He also served in the United States Army and served in Operation Desert Storm. He and his wife Colleen currently reside in North Reading with their two children, Jeff Jr. and Isabella. Jeff Jr. a former Knight and University of Maine Black Bear (appeared in 98 games with 98 hits and .409 obp.) is now serving in the US Army.
Jeffrey Mejia / Facility Manager / Instructor

Jeffrey a former Team Boston player and North Reading High 4 year varsity standout. Jeffrey went on to star at University of Maine. During his career he held a .409 on base percentage and in 98 games had 98 hits. During the summer of 2020 he played for the Leesburg Storm in the Florida Collegiate Baseball League. Jeffrey had a .451 BA and .554 OBP(both league single season records) and was named to the All-Florida League team.
Pat Ruotolo / Pitching Instructor

Pat is a Peabody native who was a standout pitcher at Peabody High school. After his time at Peabody High, Pat went on to pitch at the University of Connecticut. During his three seasons with UConn, Pat was an American Athletic Conference Second Team member and a NEIBA All-New England First Team member with an impressive career ERA of 2.62 in 120.1 innings. after his third season with UConn Pat was selected in the 2016 MLB Draft by the San Fransisco Giants and has played seven seasons in the minor leagues.
Pat is available for private pitching lessons and will be running all of the pitching clinics this winter.
Ryan McAuliffe / Pitching Instructor

Ryan is a former Team Boston player and North Reading High standout. After high school he went on to play for Northern Essex Community College for two years. During his time at NECC he helped lead his team to back to back NJCAA World Series appearances and was a first team All-American his sophomore year. After NECC, Ryan went on to play at NCAA division I school St. John’s University. During his two seasons at St. John’s Ryan earned himself a spot as a starting pitcher and had a career 3.54 ERA with 112 innings pitched. After his senior season Ryan signed a professional Contract with the New York Mets and played for two years in their minor league system.
Ryan will be running the Team Boston throwing and pitching skills practices and is available for private pitching lessons.
Kathy McConnell / Director of Operations

As Director of Team Boston Academy operations, Kathy oversees all communications to players, parents, and facility rentals. A hockey and baseball mom for over 20 years, Kathy McConnell can answer your questions or point you in the right direction. She also oversees clinic and lesson packages, team player payments, and facility rentals. You can email her directly if you have any questions.
Jared Evans / South Baseball Director /Coach Underclass Baseball 2025

Jared provides private and group instruction for over 15 years and is known for his endless attention to detail and understanding of biomechanics. Coach Jared spent 3 seasons as an Area Scout with the New York Mets. Jared is available for Hitting and fielding lessons in our southern region. Jared is the Director of Team Boston South.
Ryan Turenne / Hitting and Catching Instructor/ 13U Baseball Coach

Ryan is a former Team Boston player and St. Mary’s Lynn and Bridgton Academy standout and played college baseball at the Division I level for the University of Maine Black Bears. In his time with the Black Bears Ryan Was a five year starter as a catcher and helped lead his team to an America East Conference championship and to a NCAA tournament appearance his senior year. After his time with the Black Bears Ryan went on to make his professional baseball debut for the Salem Senators in the Mavericks Independent Baseball League during the 2023 season. In his time with the Senators Ryan slashed an impressive .410/.416/.615 (AVG/OBP/SLG) earning himself a Silver Slugger award.
Ryan will be available for both catching and hitting lessons and will be joining the Team Boston 13u Rams as an assistant coach.
Mike McCarthy / Coach 10U Baseball 2025

Coach McCarthy started his coaching career with our previous program, the Boston Jr Rams. His accolades include the 9u D2 runner up, and in 2022, he coached his 10u team to the Silver Bracket Champions. He also coached in the Perfect Game New England Super Regional and made it as a semi finalist. Coach Mike’s favorite thing about coaching is winning and seeing the progress kids make from where they start to how it ends.
